LASER THERAPY

What is Laser Therapy in Dentistry?

We recommend flossing, and brushing your teeth twice a day using a soft-bristled toothbrush and fluoride toothpaste. Ensure you’re brushing at a 45-degree angle towards the gum with gentle force instead of rigorous or harsh brushing. Remember: soft toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of toothpaste are all you need.

Lasers are focused beams of light that can be used for a variety of treatments.

In our clinic we use them for:

Aphthous Ulcers/Herpetic Lesions (Commonly known as Lesions or Canker sores)
Perio Therapy (Therapy to help speed up healing in your gums and teeth and to stop bleeding)
Perio Debridement/Curettage (Treatment to remove diseased tissue for reattachment of gum fibers)
Pocket Therapy (Laser Bacterial Reduction-LBR, which reduces bacterial levels from billions to hundreds within a pocket)

Lession & Cankersore Treatment

Laser treatment is a non-invasive way to treat cold or canker sores with huge benefits!

There’s no contact with the lesion or sore so you don’t have to worry about the pain associated with any contact or pressure
No anesthetic is required so no needles, no touching, no pain
Using laser treatment preserves tissues and lessens bleeding while speeding up healing in half the time
It cauterizes nerve endings for instant pain relief
LET'S TALK!

PERIO THERAPY, DEBRIDEMENT & CURETTAGE

Your general tooth and gum cleaning has traditionally been used with instruments that you’ve seen causing you discomfort and irritation. With laser therapy, there’s less invasiveness of the teeth and gums which helps preserve any of the tissues with less pain, better, and faster treatment. The lasers promote healing and stop bleeding because they cauterize nerve endings and remove diseased tissues which can hinder the recovery of your treated tissues.

Pocket Therapy (Laser Bacterial Reduction - LBR)

Laser usage in pocket therapy is used to reduce bacteria, toxins, and biofilm within the sulcus (the space between each tooth and gum tissue that surrounds it) for the entire mouth. It can be used for any patient and requires no anesthetic to be used while also speeding your treatment so you can leave faster and get on with your day, pain free!
